The combination of a sales team across the UK and Ireland lead by UK Sales Manager David Evans and our own fleet of modern delivery trucks means we are a self sufficient company from orders to deliveries.

The Millbrook Garden Company Limited is a family-run, independent company founded in 1979, serving the South East of England. The business consists of two garden centres: Millbrook at Gravesend, Kent, which opened in 1994 and Millbrook at Staplehurst in Marden, Kent, which became part of the family in March 2013. Millbrook promotes good environmental practice and environmental awareness throughout its garden centres to educate and inspire customers to garden in a more planet-positive way. Millbrook no longer sells peat in bagged products, synthetic pesticides, or artificial grass, offering environmentally-friendly alternatives and sources products locally or in the UK where possible. As a business, Millbrook also strives to be greener, investing in greener ways to produce energy, measuring and reporting on waste management and recycling, supported by its membership of both Planet Mark and the Responsible Sourcing Scheme.

Rocket Gro
RocketGro are a leading Peat-Free compost producer based in Somerset on a 5500 acre family farm. All our composts and growing media products are developed from Somerset and West Country sourced substrates, and all are 100% sustainable. Our farm produces renewable energy and enables RocketGro to run its production line on 100% renewable energy. All our products are Soil Association Approved for Organic growing. Our carbon footprint is so low that a recent carbon audit had us at almost carbon neutral without buying carbon credits. With a leading team of horticulturalists behind the development of the products, and enough substrates grown on our farm for millions of bags per year of production, we are staying ahead of the science and future proofing our business. Huge investment will continue to make sure we stay at the forefront of the Peat-Free revolution, with the consumer and planet coming first at all times.
Southern Trident
Southern Trident are a carbon neutral company with bases in both India and the UK led by its mantra Green Today Greener Tomorrow.
It produces high quality peat-free and coir growing media (compost) under the Coco & Coir brand where as well as the coir being a completely renewable peat-free material it is also Soil Association organic approved substrate.
Southern Trident also produces the growing media brand Harmony Gardens, not only is this peat-free, only uses by-products and recycled materials as its core substrates, it is the world’s only carbon neutral compost.

The Gardens Group
Made up of three garden centres, each as unique as the plants within them, The Gardens Group was founded by Mike and Louise Burks in 1987 when they opened Castle Gardens in Sherborne, Dorset. Brimsmore Gardens in Yeovil followed in 1992, while Poundbury Gardens was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2006. These award-winning garden centres are also home to three restaurants and a farm shop, all built on people and place.

West Somerset Garden Centre
We are fully committed to environmental responsibility and share the concerns of gardeners, the horticultural industry and government towards peat extraction. We strive to be a peat free business and support the continued search for alternative growing media. In 2022 we joined the HTA Sustainability Pledge and the Responsible Sourcing Scheme. At the start of 2019, we started to increase the sales of peat-free growing media with the introduction of Melcourt composts and today the sales reached 75% of our compost sales and we are working hard to make sure this percentage continues to grow and by 2024 when we will only sell Peat Free Products. We do not sell moss peat, sedge peat, moss poles or sphagnum moss. Peat-free compost has a prominent position within our compost sales area and now takes up the majority of the area. All of the plants we sell are grown in peat-free or reduced-peat media; helping reduce our peat throughput.
